Went for a run today to get back in workout mode for the week. I worked so many hours last week I was just so exhausted to do anything, and to top it off dodgeball was cancelled! Ugh, that has become the highlight of my week. So I did 20 minutes solid on a back paved trail. Did some abs and run about 10 more minutes. Did 2 sets of 30 leaps to get these legs working again. The sun peeked through the clouds just as it was setting and shot an orange ribbon on the glass of my favorite building in Blacksburg as I was working out. Such a beautiful fall day. I felt such a calm. Hills tomorrow!

Weight Circuit
My training has been a little off lately because of my ridiculous dodgeball injury. I need to stop having non track issues. So I just did weights today, my glute still hurt to the touch, but I can walk normal again and plus I was standing for 10 hours at work today so I decided not to run.
I did a light series, my body has gotten so weak, just need to see where to ratchet up. Did a chest machine (bench like), Quads, Hamstrings, Pullups, Russian Twist with a weight, Balance ball sit-ups with a weight, Bent over dumbbell rows, and Jack Knives with a weight. Did all of that 2-3 times depending on the exercise.
Good little sweat but I can feel my body hunger for more. Will step it up soon!

Dodgeball
Played dodgeball with the Architecture peeps today for the second week in a row. This workout works such a different muscle group than I am used to. But overall it is a nice cardio day. Last week my lower back and abs were worked pretty hard. Today, it wasn't as good because on my first throw, my high glute, butt muscle, idk, pulled or something. It really hurt the rest of the night. I guess it was dormant pain from last week that finally got aggravated again this week. So, I was off my dodgeball game, couldn't do my signature throw any more, no power in my throws. Had to come up with some new throwing techniques and get better at dodging. All in all, good Cardio day, saw some good friends, hopefully I will be able to walk tomorrow.

Jackie Jack
Staying in blacksburg was a good move. Ask any aspiring professional track athlete and I'd bet they have a long list of struggles and obstacles they have to overcome just to get meet minimal training standards. Not quite the same story that seems to be playing out thus far (knock on wood). I rode my bike to campus, saw two "bluebirds" fly 2 feet away from me on the trail, had a quality stadium workout*, caught up with a couple friends, and then did lunges on one of the softest indoor surfaces this side of the mississippi. to top it off, jackie jack did some work on my glute and piriformis. How many athletes have that service available to them?
scheduling note for next week: cheerleaders workout on Wednesday at 6pm
*stadiums: single, double x 3 + lunges 35 yard lunges with 35lb dumbbells

Hillsville
Did 2 sets of 10 hills today with 10 minutes rest in between. The band was playing on the field so that was cool motivation. Afterwards did only 1 set of 45lb dumbbell bench, some hammer twists, and then 50 calf raises on each foot.

FoxFit
After another ultimate frisbee mishap, I decided to train at the Foxridge Apartments Gym. I did 300 calories on the treadmill. In between that I did general body lifts, arms, abs, quads. Some dymanic weighted punches (to prepare for dodgeball this Thursday, lol). Pretty good day, kind of a wake up call to how weak I have gotten.

Crowd
Ran 3 500's today to eat back in the swing of things after a shady past week of training. My goal was to get under 1:25 each time. I ran the first one too conservative and came through at 1:27. The next 2 were under the goal which was good. I also had a fan on my last one cheering me to 1:24, when I saw him I accidentally cracked a smile as he motivated me. Getting better at my breathing and confident when I tie up. Most of this training is mental for now, I just want to get comfortable pushing myself again after a pretty lax 2013 campaign.
